2027: ‘You Will Win Your Second Term In 2027’ – Ganduje Assures Gov. Yusuf After Defection To APC

Immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has assured Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, of victory in the 2027 governorship election.

Abia Radio News reports that Yusuf, on Monday, defected to the APC after resigning from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), a move that has triggered major political realignments in Kano State, with several elected officials and party members also defecting alongside him.

While welcoming Governor Yusuf back to the APC, Ganduje declared that the party would fully back him for a second term, describing his return as historic and beneficial to both the party and the state.

Ganduje recalled that Yusuf was part of the APC at its formative stage before leaving due to political differences and realignments.

He said, “You will win your second term in 2027. We have spoken to all aspirants, and they have agreed to support you.

“This is a memorable and historic occasion. Your Excellency, you are welcome back home to the APC. When the party was formed, you were with us, but later political differences and misconceptions led you away. Now you are back.

“We know you as a progressive politician from your perception, utterances and disposition. APC is perfect with you.”

He further declared that, in line with APC tradition, Yusuf automatically becomes the party’s leader in Kano State, adding that the Governor would win the 2027 election alongside President Bola Tinubu.

He stressed, “In APC, all serving governors are leaders of the party in their respective states. Therefore, you are the leader of the APC in Kano State.

“As you are coming in, we assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will also win the 2027 election. APC will stand solidly with you.”
