Otti Appoints New Members to Abia State Library Board

The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has approved the appointment of new members to the Abia State Library Board as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s knowledge and information management sector.

Those appointed include Mr. Otah Kalu as Chairman, Dr. Oluchi Iche Kalu as Chief Librarian, Hon. Chinyere Amala as Member, and Dr. Ugochi C. Ekenna as Member.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, the appointees will be officially inaugurated on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Michael Okpara Auditorium by 11:00 a.m., with all appointees expected to be seated before the arrival of the Governor.

The new board is expected to play a key role in revitalizing library services and promoting literacy across Abia State.
