RMAFC Commends Umo Eno on Infrastructure and Economic Development

The Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has praised Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for his efforts in infrastructure development and economic growth across the state.

The commendation came during an inspection tour of major government projects by a delegation from the Commission led by Professor Olusegun Adekunle Wright, Chairman of the Customs Revenue Monitoring Committee of RMAFC.

Speaking after visiting several projects, Professor Wright expressed satisfaction with the progress made since the Commission’s last visit. He noted that many projects that were just starting at the time have now been completed or are close to completion.

“When we visited last year, many of these projects were still at the early stage. Today, we can see that the golf course is already in operation, while most of the facilities we inspected have either been completed or are nearing completion. This is impressive progress,” he said.

The delegation visited several key projects, including the International Conference and Exhibition Centre, the International Hospital, Ibom Hotels and Golf Resort, Tropicana, the Senior Citizens Centre, and the ARISE Palm Resort.

Professor Wright was particularly impressed by the International Conference and Exhibition Centre. He said that when completed, the facility could become one of the best convention centres in Nigeria and help position Akwa Ibom as a top destination for conferences, tourism, and investment.

He described Akwa Ibom as one of the leading states in infrastructure development, noting that the state is experiencing rapid growth through well-planned projects and effective leadership.

Professor Wright also praised the strong relationship between Akwa Ibom State and RMAFC, which he attributed to Governor Umo Eno’s inclusive leadership style and focus on development.

The Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah, explained that the governor’s projects are designed to be financially sustainable and beneficial to the state’s economy.

According to him, the administration’s development projects have already created about 43,000 direct jobs and thousands of indirect employment opportunities through construction work and related services.

Umanah said the projects are in line with Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda and are expected to boost economic growth, attract investors, expand tourism, and improve the living conditions of residents.

The inspection tour was attended by the Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah; Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Anieti Udofia; Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Henry Archibong; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Documentation, Dr. Essien Ndueso; and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Matters, Engr. Charles Okorie. They provided detailed information on the projects and their benefits to the state’s economy.
