The United Nations Children\u2019s Fund, UNICEF, has expressed worry over the zero level vaccination of children in the North-East.<\/p>\n
The children\u2019s charity noted that nearly two million children are out-of-school in the region while twelve local governments in Borno and Yobe States are at zero-dose levells in terms of vaccination.<\/p>\n
The Maiduguri Field Office head of UNICEF, Joseph Senesie, disclosed at a Media Dialogue on Journalism Ethics and Child Rights Reporting holding in Damaturu, Yobe State.<\/p>\n
Senesie said 32,215 children who had never been vaccinated (zero dose) have now been targeted and have received immunization.<\/p>\n
\u201cSimilarly, 1.2 million children were immunized with the pentavalent vaccine while 1.6 million people were reached with the cholera vaccine in the region\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n
