<\/figure>\nThe National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), in partnership with the Edo State Government, has launched a five-day intensive training program for 50 women in Edo State on converting petrol-powered vehicles to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking at the opening ceremony in Benin City, the Director General\/CEO of NADDC, Olumemimo Joseph Osanipin, represented by Mrs. Joke Onireti, Deputy Director of Industrial Infrastructure, said the initiative aligns with the Federal Government\u2019s push for cleaner and more affordable transport energy. He emphasized that the program is not only aimed at promoting sustainable fuel alternatives but also empowering women economically and promoting gender inclusion in the automotive sector.<\/p>\n \u201cThis training provides both theoretical and practical knowledge, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience in CNG conversion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The initiative, supported by the Lady Mechanic Initiative, marks the first all-female CNG conversion training in Nigeria. Its Director, Sandra Aguebor\u2014the country\u2019s first certified female CNG specialist\u2014urged participants to remain focused, noting that successful trainees would be deployed to workshops and encouraged to establish their own.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a great opportunity for women to become pioneers in a cleaner energy future,\u201d Aguebor added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
