New Abia <\/a>Movement Launches In Umuahia To Spark Civic Renewal Across Abia <\/a>State

The New Abia <\/a>Movement (NAM) was officially inaugurated in a vibrant ceremony held at Umuahia, signaling the birth of a dynamic civic platform designed to inspire participatory governance, inclusive development, and grassroots empowerment in Abia <\/a>State.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Led by renowned civil society activist, educationist, and community leader Comrade Zulu Ofoelue, NAM represents a values-driven coalition of citizens determined to shape the future of Abia <\/a>through unified action and civic consciousness. <\/p>\n

With over 10,000 registered members and organized cells in all wards across the 17 local government areas of the state, the movement reflects unprecedented levels of public engagement.<\/p>\n

The inauguration drew a wide range of state dignitaries and local government officials. In attendance were: Rev. Dr. Chris Nkata \u2013 Chairman, Abia <\/a>North LGA, Mr. Ukoha Idika \u2013 Chairman, Ohafia LGA, Mr. Nwankwo Abali \u2013 Chairman, Arochukwu LGA, Pastor Chibuike Okonkwo \u2013 Chairman, Ugwunagbo LGA, Mr. Joachin Okwueze \u2013 Chairman, Aba North LGA, Chief KO Okechi \u2013 Chairman, Isikwuato LGA, Mr. Emeka Abengowe \u2013 Chairman, Aba South LGA, Mrs. Peace Onyeka \u2013 Abia <\/a>State Woman Leader. Other state officers and representatives of local government councils were also present, affirming broad-based endorsement for the initiative.<\/p>\n

NAM aims to:
\u2022\tPromote Participatory Democracy: Encourage active citizen involvement in decision-making processes and governance.<\/p>\n

\u2022\t Advance Government Accountability: Campaign for transparent, responsive, and ethical leadership across Abia.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tEnhance Civic Education: Educate residents on rights, duties, and the power of community organizing.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tEmpower Youth and Women: Support initiatives that build leadership, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tPromote Sustainable Development: Partner with communities to drive innovation, infrastructure, and social services.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tStrengthen Unity and Harmony: Champion values of inclusion, tolerance, and shared responsibility.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Comrade Zulu stated: \u201cThe New Abia <\/a>Movement is a call to conscience, not a political party. We stand with the people, for the people, and by the people\u2014guided only by truth, justice, and service.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ceremony ushers in hope for each local government area and the collective hope for a brighter future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
