Nigeria\u2019s former president, Muhammadu Buhari, has died at the age of 82. He passed on in a clinic in London on Sunday, July 13, 2025.<\/p>\n

Buhari will be remembered as the country\u2019s second longest serving leader\u2014nine years, seven months and 27 days \u2014 as one who enforced strict discipline during his time as military head of state.<\/p>\n

After three consecutive failed attempts, Buhari was able to return to power in 2015 after defeating the then incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan, by 2,571,759 votes.<\/p>\n

His winning campaign had emphasised three key promises: to tackle insecurity, stamp out corruption, and fix the economy.<\/p>\n
