The Presidency has announced that a\u00a0special session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari will now hold on Thursday, July 17, by 1pm.<\/h2>\n
Naija News<\/strong> reports that Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a post on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n Tinubu is expected to lead members of his cabinet in paying tribute to the late Nigerian leader.<\/p>\n The session was originally planned for Tuesday, but was postponed<\/strong> following the announcement of Buhari\u2019s state funeral in Daura, Katsina State, which took place the same day.<\/p>\n Buhari died on Sunday after a long battle with illness in a London hospital.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, former presidential candidate, Peter Obi has opened up on the reason<\/strong> he was absent at the burial of erstwhile President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Obi, who was one of the conspicuous absentees at the ceremony which took place in Daura, Katsina State explained that he could not get a flight to Katsina.<\/p>\n Obi was able to make it to Daura on Wednesday, where he commiserated with the family of the late former President.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was difficult to come yesterday (Tuesday) because there was no flight,\u201d Obi told Arise TV.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cEven if there was a flight, you couldn\u2019t land in Katsina Airport. It was all closed, because there was a lot of dignitaries.<\/em><\/p>\n
