Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the alleged involvement of the State Commissioner for Transport, Alhaji Ibrahim Namadi, in the controversial bail of a suspected drug baron, Sulaiman Aminu Dan Wawu.<\/h2>\n
The directive follows widespread public outrage after reports emerged that the Commissioner\u2019s name appeared in official documents facilitating the suspect\u2019s release.<\/p>\n
Naija News<\/strong> recalls that, according to Daily Nigerian, Namadi helped release the accused drug kingpin<\/strong> after Justice MS Shu\u2019aibu imposed what appear to be stringent bail conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n While granting the bail application on July 16, the judge ordered the accused to produce a serving commissioner and member of the Kano State Executive Council as a surety as well as a deposit a \u20a65 milion.<\/p>\n Following the stringent bail conditions, the Commissioner swore to an affidavit of means and wrote a letter to the court, standing as a surety.<\/p>\n In a letter dated 18 July, 2025 and addressed to the deputy chief registrar of the Federal High Court, Kano, Namadi applied to stand as a surety to Mr Danwawu.<\/p>\n Reacting to the development, the Kano State Governor, in a statement on Saturday by his spokesperson,\u00a0Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa<\/strong>, set up a special investigative committee chaired by Barrister Aminu Hussain, his Special Adviser on Justice and Constitutional Matters, to look into the matter.<\/p>\n The committee is mandated to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and recommend appropriate actions with immediate effect.<\/p>\n Members of the committee include:<\/p>\n 1.
