The Governor reaffirmed this stance during the recent Constitution Review Sitting in Owerri, clarifying that if any new state must be created, it should be in the South East to address regional imbalance \u2014 not just to serve political expediency.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, Ekeoma alleged that Ikonne\u2019s motive was far from altruistic.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"kvezio kvezio-clearfix kvezio-post-middle kvezio-float-center kvezio-align-center kvezio-column-1\">\n<div id=\"kvezio-178990-22699546\" class=\"kvezio-container kvezio-type-image \" itemscope=\"\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/WPAdBlock\" data-adid=\"178990\" data-type=\"image\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" itemprop=\"url\" class=\"kvezio-link\" href=\"https:\/\/afnews.sumofunnel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Specil-Edition-of-Gov.-Alex-Otti-One-Year-In-Office-2024.pdf\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"kvezio-image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/afnews.sumofunnel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/cover-1-scaled.jpg?w=1170&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"news paper\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis is the same man who supervised the demolition of Top View Hotel in Aba in 2007 using caterpillars at dawn \u2014 while people were still inside. He reduced the most beautiful hotel in the city to rubble just because of political disagreement,\u201d the statement alleged.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Further damning allegations were leveled against Paul Ikonne, accusing him of being a serial political opportunist who betrayed the very city he now claims to defend. According to the Governor\u2019s media office, while serving as NALDA boss for four years, Ikonne allegedly focused agricultural development projects on northern states like Adamawa, Taraba, and Yobe, while leaving Abia \u2014 and Aba in particular \u2014 with nothing.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe challenge him to show just one farmer in Aba or <a href=\"https:\/\/abianewscentral.com.ng\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>he empowered during his time. Where are the tractors? Where are the farm estates?\u201d the statement asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ekeoma didn\u2019t stop there. He slammed Paul Ikonne for allegedly sponsoring fake reports against the Governor using his media outfit and accused him of raising a false alarm about a fire outbreak in his radio station last year, which investigations later revealed was caused by faulty solar installation.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe wants to appear as a political threat, but lacks the capacity to offer constructive opposition. So he resorts to infantile lies, hate speeches, and clannish sentiments,\u201d Ekeoma added.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The statement painted a picture of a man desperate for relevance \u2014 someone whose career, according to the Governor\u2019s media team, has been marked by betrayal, sycophancy, and failure to deliver meaningful contributions to his people.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis fellow once worshipped Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, only to later abuse him when his brother ran for office.
