The Director of News and Politics Editor at Arise Television, Sumner Sambo, has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) should be careful of the opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).<\/h2>\n
Naija News<\/strong> recalls that the opposition coalition adopted the ADC as its political party on July 2, ahead of the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n It named former Senate President, David Mark, as national chairman and ex-Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, as the national secretary.<\/p>\n Featuring on the Arise Television \u2018The Morning Show\u2019, on Monday, Sambo said the ruling APC would be joking if it disregards the opposition coalition.<\/p>\n According to him, there is considerable disaffection within the APC.<\/p>\n He said, \u201cWhen APC started at its formative stage, many Nigerians did not give them opportunities. There is a lot of disaffection within the APC. The ADC has its own issues; those in the governing party should be very careful.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Meanwhile, the ADC has stated that it is going to be a serious contender<\/strong>, not just a participant, in the 2027 general election.<\/span><\/p>\n Speaking to Vanguard on Sunday, the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi,\u00a0revealed it was not fixated on the contentious issue of zoning.<\/p>\n According to Abdullahi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has struggled to offer credible alternatives to the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n He said\u00a0the ADC was focused on building a strong, grassroots-based political structure across Nigeria, adding that\u00a0it intends to reshape the country\u2019s political system by promoting principles, practical solutions, and people-centred governance rather than relying on regional power-sharing arrangements.<\/p>\n According to him, the ADC approach to the 2027 election would prioritise merit and national interest over traditional zoning.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
