Nigerian rapper and songwriter MI Abaga is challenging the way people see leadership, and he\u2019s using his music to drive the point home.<\/strong><\/p>\n In a video shared on his verified official Instagram page, the award-winning rapper reflected on what it truly means to lead, comparing the traits of a lion and a wolf.<\/p>\n MI\u2019s post comes just days after the release of his latest single Mr Fantastic<\/em>, which dropped five days ago and is set to feature on his forthcoming album, The Wolf\u2014which he said will be released in parts.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIn Africa, most of our leaders are lions,\u201d MI said, explaining that lions are known for being feared and respected, having multiple partners, resting most of the day, enforcing law and order, and eating first at every meal.<\/p>\n \u201cBut if you\u2019re a lion\u2019s boy, you\u2019ll never lead the pride \u2014 and that creates an ego problem.\u201d Wolves, on the other hand, lead differently.<\/p>\n According to MI, wolves take their place at the back of the pack, protecting everyone and eating only after everyone else has been fed. \u201cFor a lion to become a wolf, he must see himself as smaller than he is, let go of so much, and commit to only one woman,\u201d MI explained.<\/p>\n The rapper admitted that he once saw himself as a lion, even calling himself one \u201ctwo albums ago,\u201d \u201cBut life has taught me differently,\u201d he said. \u201cNow, I want to be the wolf.\u201d<\/p>\n With Mr Fantastic and The Wolf<\/em> album on the way, MI is clearly stepping into a new phase \u2014 one where leadership means service, humility, and putting the pack first.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
