The Super Falcons lit up the streets of Lagos on Wednesday as they embarked on a grand victory parade with the 2024 Women\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) trophy, celebrating their tenth continental title with hundreds of fans.<\/h2>\n

Naija News<\/strong> reports that the celebratory motorcade came just days after President Bola Tinubu honoured the team with national awards, including the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), for their outstanding achievement in the just-concluded tournament.<\/p>\n

Clad in team colours and beaming with pride, the Falcons rode in a convoy that moved through major routes in Lagos, drawing cheers, applause, and admiration from residents who joined to catch a glimpse of the victorious squad.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0FIFA has confirmed that the official draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place on December 5<\/strong> in Las Vegas, according to ESPN.<\/p>\n

The governing body selected the American city for the 2026 World Cup draw after ruling out proposed venues in co-host nations Canada and Mexico.<\/p>\n

The tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, is scheduled to be held next year and will feature 48 teams for the first time in the competition\u2019s history, an increase from the traditional 32-team format.<\/p>\n

Pachuca executive Pedro Cedillo confirmed the draw date, saying, \u201cDecember 5, if I\u2019m not mistaken, is precisely the day the draw takes place, or at the beginning of December.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI understand it will be in Las Vegas, and that\u2019s where we need to be present to provide information about the city of Pachuca, the state of Hidalgo and the two venues we have.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Las Vegas Convention Centre, which hosted the draw last time the United States held the tournament in 1994, is expected to serve as the venue once again.<\/p>\n
