The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has clarified that the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is not a registered member of the party but remains an active participant in its opposition coalition.<\/h2>\n
Naija News<\/strong> reports that the ADC spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi<\/strong>, made the clarification during an appearance on Channels Television\u2019s Politics Today on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n According to Abdullahi, Obi has been a key figure in the coalition since its inception, attending nearly every meeting and contributing to its political agenda.<\/p>\n \u201cPeter Obi has been part of the coalition from day one. He has attended almost every meeting of the coalition,\u201d<\/em> Abdullahi said.<\/p>\n Explaining why Obi has yet to officially register with the ADC, Abdullahi said, \u201cThe reason Peter Obi has not come into the ADC as a card-carrying member is because he asked for leave to allow him complete the election that his people were involved in Labour Party.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cThe same thing applies to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. And they were both allowed by the leadership to complete the election processes that they started in their respective parties.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Despite not being a card-carrying ADC member, Abdullahi reaffirmed Obi\u2019s commitment to the coalition\u2019s objectives.<\/p>\n \u201cPeter Obi is a member of the coalition, but not a card-carrying member of the ADC,\u201d<\/em> he reiterated.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
