Peter Obi Is Celebrating Being The Biggest Importer Of Alcohol And He Wants The North To Vote For Him? \u2013 APC Chieftain, Hassan

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Alwan Hassan, has suggested that the northern region will not vote for the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the 2027 election.<\/h2>\n

Naija News<\/strong> reports that Hassan stated this on Tuesday while fielding questions on Channels TV\u2019s Politics Today programme.<\/p>\n

Hassan described Obi as the biggest importer of alcohol, questioning why he would want the North to vote for him.<\/p>\n

According to Hassan, nobody is capable of defeating President Bola Tinubu <\/a>in the 2027 election.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cWho else do you think would defeat Asiwaju come 2027? Who? Peter Obi that was on your programme, saying he wants the north to support him and trust him. At the same time in the same programme, he\u2019s celebrating building breweries in Anambra State and being the biggest importer of alcohol, and he wants the north to vote for him? We\u2019ll vote for a president that will import alcohol in the north?<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cOr is it those ones that are saying their wives are taking care of them. We cannot hand over this country to people, to men that are being fed by their wives.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticised Labour Party\u2019s 2023 presidential candidate,\u00a0Peter Obi, over his recent pledge to serve only one term<\/strong> if elected president in 2027, describing it as \u201cunnecessary and unconstitutional.\u201d<\/p>\n

PDP Deputy National Youth Leader,\u00a0Timothy Osadolor<\/strong>, speaking with Vanguard in Abuja on Tuesday, said Obi\u2019s statement could undermine the constitutional framework that allows a president to serve a maximum of two terms.<\/p>\n

Osadolor said,\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t believe such statements have a place in a democracy, and it\u2019s truly unfortunate. The Constitution explicitly states that one is eligible for an eight-year tenure. Committing to just one term and potentially devaluing the process in the long run is neither fashionable nor something that should be encouraged.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Osadolor argued that political campaigns should be anchored on a candidate\u2019s competence, leadership ability, and vision for uniting Nigeria rather than symbolic pledges meant to sway voters emotionally.<\/p>\n
