Major League Soccer (MLS) side, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, have signed German football legend, Thomas M\u00fcller from FC Bayern Munich.<\/h2>\n

The Whitecaps acquired the Discovery Priority for Thomas M\u00fcller from FC Cincinnati in exchange for $200,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM), $100,000 in 2026 GAM, and a conditional $100,000 in 2026 GAM.<\/p>\n

The former Bayern Munich star is signed through the 2025 season, with a Designated Player option for 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cThomas is a world-class player, the ultimate Raumdeuter \u2018Interpreter of space\u2019, known for his elite chance creation, unmatched spatial awareness, and relentless off-the-Ball <\/a>movement,\u201d<\/em> said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC CEO and sporting director.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a statement signing by our club and our ownership, a transformative moment for our club and our city.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

M\u00fcller will arrive in Vancouver next Wednesday. His official media introduction and first training session are scheduled for Thursday. The Whitecaps will play six of their final nine regular-season matches at BC Place, including a home game on Sunday, August 17.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to coming to Vancouver to help this team win a championship,\u201d<\/em> said M\u00fcller. \u201cI\u2019ve had great conversations with Axel Schuster and Jesper S\u00f8rensen, and now I can\u2019t wait to play in front of the supporters and to see all of the fans come out to BC Place as we head towards the playoffs.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

M\u00fcller joins the Whitecaps following a 17-year career with Bayern Munich, where he made 756 appearances, scored 250 goals, and recorded 238 assists.<\/p>\n

He won 33 major trophies with the club, including 13 Bundesliga titles, six DFB-Pokal Cups, two UEFA <\/a>Champions League trophies, and two FIFA Club World Cups.<\/p>\n

Internationally, M\u00fcller earned 131 caps for Germany, scored 45 goals, and contributed 41 assists. He was part of Germany\u2019s 2014 World Cup-winning squad and won the Golden Boot at the 2010 World Cup.<\/p>\n

The move comes as Vancouver lead the MLS Western Conference in points per game and positions themselves as a strong contender for the championship.<\/p>\n
