{"id":233984,"date":"2025-08-08T12:09:03","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T12:09:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abianewscentral.com.ng\/five-injured-as-fuel-tanker-rams-into-bus-in-lagos\/"},"modified":"2025-08-08T12:09:03","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T12:09:03","slug":"five-injured-as-fuel-tanker-rams-into-bus-in-lagos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/five-injured-as-fuel-tanker-rams-into-bus-in-lagos\/","title":{"rendered":"Five injured as fuel tanker rams into bus in Lagos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five injured as fuel tanker rams into bus in Lagos<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p>At least five people sustained injuries after a fuel tanker collided with a commercial bus at Toyota Bus Stop, inward Oshodi, Lagos State.<\/p>\n<p>The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, in a statement issued on\u00a0Friday\u00a0by its Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq, confirmed that the crash occurred on\u00a0Thursday,\u00a0near The Guardian newspaper headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicles involved were identified as a PMS-laden tanker with registration number T28128LA and a Volkswagen T4 commercial bus with plate number GGE 526 YG.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1252548\" src=\"https:\/\/dailypost.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1-1-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"562\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailypost.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1-1-3.jpg 675w, https:\/\/dailypost.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1-1-3-300x250.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 675px) 100vw, 675px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>According to preliminary findings from Oloto Police Division, the tanker suffered a sudden brake failure while speeding, causing it to ram into the fully loaded bus.<\/p>\n<p>LASTMA stated that its operatives carried out a swift and well-coordinated rescue operation, pulling out five injured victims; three women and two men, including the bus driver, from the wreckage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne victim was rushed to a nearby hospital by a good Samaritan, while the Lagos State Ambulance Service and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency\u2019s Rescue Unit conveyed the others to different medical facilities for urgent treatment,\u201d the agency noted.<\/p>\n<p>LASTMA\u2019s General Manager, Bakare-Oki, expressed sympathy to the victims and wished them a speedy recovery.
