I just kept going,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>For her, the mission goes beyond personal success\u2014it\u2019s about redefining how women see themselves and how they are seen by others.<\/p>\n<p>Tems, also known as Temilade Openiyi, considers herself the right person to launch her platform \u2018The Leading Vibe Initiative\u2019, which aims to support, promote and connect African female singers, songwriters and producers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a woman myself, I\u2019m the best person to start something like this because that\u2019s the aim of this,\u201d said the two-time Grammy winner.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><noscript><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-900573\" src=\"https:\/\/www.channelstv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TEMS-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.channelstv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TEMS-3.png 650w, https:\/\/www.channelstv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TEMS-3-300x209.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\"\/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 30-year old explained that she wants to change the way people see women, and the way women see themselves in music.<\/p>\n<p>Tems is not only talking about female artists, she\u2019s pushing for visible representation of women across board\u2014producers, audio engineers, instrumentalists, managers, and more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen people tell you to change your sound, change your style, you look at them and say no,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf it means me not being signed, I was okay not being signed; I went to a couple places that didn\u2019t sign me, and I was okay with that,\u201d Tems said.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, music isn\u2019t her only passion. The 30-year old has also stepped into an unexpected arena\u2014becoming a US football club owner in San Diego.
