Naija News<\/strong> understands that the new members were formally received on Sunday by a prominent leader in the ADC coalition, Senator Abubakar Gada, who described the development as a reflection of waning confidence in the APC government.<\/p>\n Speaking at the event, Gada lamented the worsening state of insecurity and economic hardship across Sokoto East and other parts of the country, noting that farming, the region\u2019s primary source of income, had been devastated.<\/p>\n \u201cOur people are battling serious security threats that have destroyed farming, our main source of income. This has caused poverty, unemployment, and hunger in our communities,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n The former lawmaker said the rising number of defections to the ADC showed that Nigerians were ready for change.<\/p>\n \u201cMany Nigerians are coming to ADC because they believe in our mission to rescue the country. The APC government\u2019s poor performance has forced people to look for hope elsewhere, and ADC is providing that option,<\/em>\u201d Gada added.<\/p>\n He stressed that the ADC was positioning itself as a credible alternative that could address Nigeria\u2019s insecurity, revive the economy, and restore hope to citizens.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has vowed to contest<\/strong> for Nigeria\u2019s number one political seat in the 2027 presidential election.<\/p>\n Atiku, a former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of trying to ridicule and play down the current momentum in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).<\/p>\n Atiku stated that the ADC coalition will shock the world in the 2027 presidential election.<\/p>\n While dismissing the insinuation that he might not contest the presidential poll in 2027, Atiku said that he will run for the nation\u2019s top job in the next election cycle.<\/p>\n This was made known by one of his spokespersons during the 2023 presidential election, Tunde Olusunle.<\/p>\n
