The forum, in a statement on Sunday by its Director-General, Dr Emmanuel Agbo, said defectors who realise their mistake would be welcomed back if they show \u201cgenuine regret.\u201d<\/p>\n
The response came after ADC leaders and some Zamfara residents condemned the PDP governors\u2019 dinner in Gusau, Zamfara State.<\/p>\n
Critics described the gathering as \u201cinsensitive,\u201d arguing that it took place while residents were still mourning victims of bandit attacks.<\/p>\n
ADC\u2019s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, branded the event an \u201cinsensitive jamboree,\u201d accusing PDP governors of ignoring the people’s suffering.<\/p>\n
However, the PDP governors dismissed the accusations, stating that they were baseless and driven by frustration.<\/p>\n
The forum stated, \u201cOrdinarily, we would have ignored them, but we need to correct the false impression being pushed to the public<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe meeting was planned long before, and unlike ADC, we do not play politics with human lives.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The forum maintained that the Gusau meeting was not a social jamboree but a platform where major national issues, especially insecurity, were discussed.<\/p>\n According to Agbo, the governors commended Zamfara\u2019s efforts to tackle insecurity but expressed concern over continued killings in Katsina, Plateau, Niger and Benue states.<\/p>\n The forum further described ADC defectors as \u201cprodigal children\u201d whose exit had brought more peace and focus to the PDP.<\/p>\n \u201cSince their departure, PDP has become stronger and more determined. The ADC, with its sense of entitlement, was a major obstacle to unity.
