The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA)<\/a> has unveiled the official list of nominees for its 2025 edition.<\/h2>\n

Abia Radio News<\/strong> reports that the nominees include established performers such as Davido, Burna Boy, Fally Ipupa, El Grande Toto, DJ Maphorisa, and Amr Diab.<\/p>\n

Rising artistes like Shallipopi, Himra, Moliy, Ayra Starr, Juma Jux, and Senegal\u2019s Mia Guiss\u00e9 are also in the running, creating a mix of veteran and new acts.<\/p>\n

This year, AFRIMA received a record-breaking 10,717 entries, the highest in the award\u2019s 12-year history.<\/p>\n

A 13-member jury spent ten days reviewing submissions and selected 343 nominees across 40 categories, covering music from Africa and its diaspora.<\/p>\n

Burna Boy and Davido lead Nigeria\u2019s nominations with five each. Both are nominated for Album of the Year, Burna Boy for No Sign of Weakness and Davido for 5ive.<\/p>\n

Their hit songs also earned recognition in the Song of the Year and Best Collaboration categories.<\/p>\n

Shallipopi received four nominations, including Artiste of the Year and Song of the Year for his track Laho.<\/p>\n

Ayra Starr received two nominations and will compete for Artiste of the Year alongside Davido, Burna Boy, and Morocco\u2019s El Grande Toto.<\/p>\n

Other top nominees include South Africa\u2019s DJ Maphorisa, Morocco\u2019s El Grande Toto, Senegal\u2019s Mia Guiss\u00e9, and Ghana\u2019s Moliy, each with five nominations.<\/p>\n

Tanzania\u2019s Diamond Platnumz, South Africa\u2019s Tyla, and Eswatini\u2019s Uncle Waffles earned four nominations apiece.<\/p>\n

Artistes from the African diaspora also feature prominently. French-Malian singer Aya Nakamura, UK-based Darkoo, and Canadian-Congolese Deborah Lukalu are among the female nominees. Male nominees include DJ Snake, Tayc, and Niska.<\/p>\n

AFRIMA 2025 will take place in Lagos from November 25 to 30.<\/p>\n

Events include the AFRIMA Music Village, Africa Music Business Summit, Nominees Party, and the grand finale on November 30, which will be broadcast to over 84 countries.<\/p>\n
