Abia <\/a>State Police Command has reacted to a trending video on Facebook where a traffic officer was shown attempting to extort money from a Keke NAPEP rider at Azikiwe road by Aba road junction in Umuahia.<\/p>\n In the video, a voice of a woman was heard, encouraging a tricycle driver not to give money to a traffic police officer on duty as allegedly demanded by the officer.<\/p>\n The woman insisted that the officer demanded the money, even though the traffic police officer said he did not demand any bribe.<\/p>\n But in a statement issued by DSP Maureen Chinaka, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO of the Abia <\/a>Police Command, the Command said it was aware of a video that is trending on Facebook, noting that the officer involved in the said video has been identified.<\/p>\n \u201cThe officer involved has been identified, and investigation into the incident is ongoing at the state CID.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Commissioner of Police, Abia <\/a>State Command, CP Danladi Isa, reiterates the Command\u2019s zero tolerance for any form of unprofessional conduct that may tarnish the image of the Force,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n DSP Chinaka assured the public that in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, officers and men of the Abia <\/a>State Police Command would continue to be professional, service-driven, rule of law compliant, and people-friendly in the discharge of their duties across the State.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
