The opposition party argued that the principle of checks and balances had been abandoned, adding that the national assembly now operates as \u201ca conveyor belt for executive wishes\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Speaker was right the first time \u2014 our debt is out of control, and our children\u2019s future is being written in red ink,\u201d the ADC said.<\/p>\n
The party demanded fiscal discipline, transparency, and public debate on all borrowing plans, while calling for job creation and domestic resource mobilisation to reduce Nigeria\u2019s dependence on loans.<\/p>\n
