Salvador, who is also a former PDP Chairman in Lagos and an ex-chieftain of the APC, announced his defection on Saturday in Surulere during the 25th anniversary celebration of his political group, Conscience Forum.<\/p>\n
He explained that the decision was taken after a review of the forum\u2019s achievements and prospects, insisting that a broader coalition under the ADC offered better opportunities for progress.<\/p>\n
\u201cLabour Party has no future, hence the decision to move. We have resolved to join ADC as the symbol of a new coalition that will give Nigerians hope,<\/em>\u201d Salvador said.<\/p>\n Salvador revealed that Conscience Forum, which boasts over 400,000 members across Lagos State, was moving en masse to ADC with its full structure.<\/p>\n \u201cThe decision was unanimously endorsed by the forum\u2019s state executives. We are entering ADC fully prepared, with our members and structures intact,<\/em>\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Receiving Salvador and his supporters, ADC National Secretary and former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola<\/strong>, described the defection as a boost to the party\u2019s strength ahead of future elections.<\/p>\n He urged Nigerians to unite under the ADC, saying the All Progressives Congress (APC) had failed repeatedly in governance.<\/p>\n \u201cAPC has failed Nigerians in every sector. What we need now is a political movement that prioritises people\u2019s welfare above personal interest. ADC is that party, and we are building a people-friendly government,<\/em>\u201d Aregbesola declared.<\/p>\n ADC\u2019s Lagos Organising Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Ogidi,<\/strong> hailed the mass defection, saying it had brightened the party’s future in the state.<\/p>\n \u201cWe welcome all Nigerians regardless of religion or ethnicity. ADC is the true home for those who believe in fairness and justice,<\/em>\u201d Ogidi said.<\/p>\n Also speaking, Chief John Uche, a former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos, pledged the support of the Igbo community for ADC.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is the time to rally behind a credible political platform.
