The member representing Umuahia North constituency in Abia <\/a>State House of Assembly, Anderson Akaliro has officially written to his constituents, explaining why he resigned from the All Progressives Congress, APC.<\/p>\n Akaliro in the message, said he was aligning with Governor Alex <\/a>Otti and his Labour Party, LP because of \u201cvisionary leadership\u201d.<\/p>\n Akaliro, who was the only APC lawmaker in Abia <\/a>State House of Assembly, appealed to his constituents not to see his defection as a betrayal of their mandate but to receive it as reinforcement of his loyalty to them for a brighter future.<\/p>\n \u201cThroughout my stewardship, I was never invited to any official meeting or activity of the party in the state.<\/p>\n \u201cInstead, recurring suspensions and counter-suspensions at the ward and local government levels confirmed the deep-rooted disunity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He noted that his decision to join the LP was advised by his constituents, political allies and stakeholders in the Umuahia North constituency.<\/p>\n \u201cI have resolved to align with the progressive, people-oriented, and visionary leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Alex <\/a>Otti, and the Labour Party.<\/p>\n \u201cThis decision is not driven by personal ambition but by the collective desire to reposition Umuahia North at the center of development-driven, accountable, and people-focused governance\u201d, Akaliro said.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
