Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, husband of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo<\/a>, has reflected on her career path and the choices she made after winning Nigerian Idol in 2012.<\/h2>\n

Abia Radio News<\/strong> reports that the clergyman recalled that after her victory, she had several opportunities to pursue a secular music career with the fame she gained, but she chose to remain in gospel music.<\/p>\n

According to him, that decision led to four years of waiting before she began to fully experience the rewards of her choice.<\/p>\n

The reflection came after Mercy Chinwo recently surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify, a milestone that Pastor Blessed described as proof that her journey was guided by obedience and trust in God.<\/p>\n

In a post on Instagram, he explained that although the waiting period might have seemed like a delay, it was not wasted, as her growth in the gospel music industry shows the results of patience and faith.<\/p>\n

Pastor Blessed further encouraged people to remain focused and courageous, noting that choosing God\u2019s way may sometimes look like a slow path but it always leads to fulfillment.<\/p>\n

He wrote: \u201cI got tagged on a post about @mercychinwo crossing 200M streams on Spotify. Honestly, I wanted to scroll past, but I felt led to share this.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2012, when she won Nigerian Idol, she had every chance to go secular. The fame was right there. But she chose obedience over compromise, and that decision cost her 4 years of waiting. It looked like a delay, but it wasn\u2019t wasted.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cToday, we see the reward of that obedience. Scripture says: \u201cDon\u2019t get tired of doing good, at the right time you\u2019ll reap a harvest if you don\u2019t give up\u201d (Galatians 6:9). Truly, \u201cthose who honor Me, I will honor\u201d (1 Samuel 2:30). And we can boldly say, \u201coverwhelming victory is ours through Christ\u201d (Romans 8:37).<\/em><\/p>\n
