{"id":236025,"date":"2025-09-26T20:37:50","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T20:37:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/gov-otti-did-not-order-fulani-to-vacate-abia-communities-dmo-gm-nwaigburu\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T20:37:50","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T20:37:50","slug":"gov-otti-did-not-order-fulani-to-vacate-abia-communities-dmo-gm-nwaigburu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/gov-otti-did-not-order-fulani-to-vacate-abia-communities-dmo-gm-nwaigburu\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov Otti did not order  Fulani to vacate Abia communities \u2013 DMO GM Nwaigburu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p>The General Manager of the <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/abia\">Abia <\/a>State Debt Management Office, Kingsley Nwaigburu, has dismissed claims credited to former Commissioner for Finance, Obinna Oriaku, about an alleged ban on Fulani cattle rearers in Umuajuju village, Isiala Ngwa South LGA.<\/p>\n<p>Oriaku had, in a social media post, claimed that some Fulani cattle rearers working for an <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/abia\">Abia <\/a>farmer, Akudo Alozie, were banned from operating in Umuajuju by orders of Governor Otti.<\/p>\n<p>But debunking the report on Friday, the General Manager of the <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/abia\">Abia <\/a>State Debt Management Office, Kingsley Nwaigburu, said Governor <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/Alex\">Alex <\/a>Otti should not be dragged into a restriction order issued by three autonomous communities that make up Okpora Ahaba community.<\/p>\n<p>He accused the newly appointed Commissioner in the Federal Character Commission, Obinna Oriaku, of attempting to destabilise <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/abia\">Abia <\/a>with unfounded suggestions that Fulanis had been banned from entering the state.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the three autonomous communities of Okporo Ahaba, Ike Ahaba, and Isi Ahaba took the decision to protect their farms from being destroyed by cattle\u2014a decision, he explained, that was informed by ugly events of past years.<\/p>\n<p>Nwaigburu said that the enemies of <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/abia\">Abia <\/a>State were trying to drag Governor <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/Alex\">Alex <\/a>Otti\u2019s name into a matter decided by the communities, describing the claims as a failed distraction plot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not an issue of the Governor, it is the issue of the decision of the communities around there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He described Governor Otti as a detribalised leader who has appointed people from Kano, Edo, and other states into top leadership positions in Abia.<\/p>\n<p>Nwaigburu, who recalled some previous reports of rape and other cases involving herdsmen in Okporo Ahaba villages, said that the herdsmen were only prevented from grazing on the community\u2019s secondary school compound after the resumption of school, in order to protect students from harm.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async defer crossorigin=\"anonymous\" src=\"https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v9.0&amp;appId=420332301344305\" nonce=\"sm97MhBO\" type=\"pmdelayedscript\" data-cfasync=\"false\" data-no-optimize=\"1\" data-no-defer=\"1\" data-no-minify=\"1\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The General Manager of the Abia State Debt Management Office, Kingsley Nwaigburu, has dismissed claims credited to former Commissioner for Finance, Obinna Oriaku, about an alleged ban on Fulani cattle rearers in Umuajuju village, Isiala Ngwa South LGA.
