{"id":236256,"date":"2025-10-04T07:20:27","date_gmt":"2025-10-04T07:20:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/mohbads-father-demands-prosecution-of-wunmi-nurse-prime-boy-others-over-singers-death\/"},"modified":"2025-10-04T07:20:27","modified_gmt":"2025-10-04T07:20:27","slug":"mohbads-father-demands-prosecution-of-wunmi-nurse-prime-boy-others-over-singers-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/mohbads-father-demands-prosecution-of-wunmi-nurse-prime-boy-others-over-singers-death\/","title":{"rendered":"Mohbad\u2019s Father Demands Prosecution Of Wunmi, Nurse, Prime Boy Others Over Singer\u2019s Death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">The father of late Nigerian singer,\u00a0Mohbad, Joseph Aloba, has called on the Lagos State government to institute criminal proceedings against his daughter-in-law, Wunmi, auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe and others indicted in the coroner\u2019s inquest into his son\u2019s death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Abia Radio News<\/strong> recalls Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, after receiving an injection administered by Ogedengbe.<\/p>\n<p>He was buried the following day, but due to public outcry and ongoing investigations, his body was exhumed by the police on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy.<\/p>\n<p>In May 2024, the pathologist in charge of the autopsy revealed that the cause of death could not be determined due to the decomposition of his body.<\/p>\n<p>In July 2025, the judge who presided over the coroner\u2019s inquest, Taofikat Adeayo Shotobi,<strong> indicted Ogedengbe for unlawful medical practice and gross medical negligence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The coroner also faulted Wunmi for negligence in the circumstances surrounding the medical treatment sought for the singer, while highlighting the roles of other persons who were with him at the time of death.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter dated October 3, addressed to the Attorney General of Lagos State through his lawyers, Mohbad\u2019s father demanded that criminal charges be filed against those indicted within 14 days.<\/p>\n<p>Mohbad\u2019s father expressed concern that despite the coroner\u2019s clear verdict, no prosecutorial steps had been taken against those indicted nearly three months after the judgment.<\/p>\n<p>He asked the attorney general to exercise prosecutorial powers within the 14 days, or, in the alternative, grant him and his legal team a fiat to prosecute the matter on behalf of the state.<\/p>\n<p>The letter reads, <em>\u201cSpecifically, we refer to persons indicted by the coroner verdict hereunder: Miss Ogedengbe Fisayo, indicted for unlawful medical practice and gross medical negligence; and Mrs. Omowunmi Aloba, indicted for negligence.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis includes Ibrahim Owodunni, a.k.a. Prime Boy, and others who either facilitated the invitation of the auxiliary nurse or refused to take him promptly to a recognized medical facility for treatment.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOur Client, as a bereaved father desirous of ensuring that justice is done and seen to be done, is deeply concerned that notwithstanding the clear indictments contained in the Coroner\u2019s Verdict, no prosecutorial steps have been taken against the aforementioned persons since the delivery of the Verdict on July 11, 2025.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe judicial observations amount to clear indictments warranting the prosecution of the said individuals in order to give full effect to the Coroner\u2019s findings and recommendations, and to ensure that justice is manifestly and adequately served in this matter.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe request that you exercise your prosecutorial power on the above subject matter within 14 Days Next, in view of the high sensitivity of this matter and the public attention and outrage it has generated.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!-- CONTENT END 4 --><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p><span class=\"copyright\"><strong>\u00a9 2025 Abia Radio News, a division of  Tee Global Innnovations  [abiaradios@gmail.com].
