Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will unseat the Labour Party in Abia <\/a>State come 2027.<\/p>\n Kalu made the bold statement during a meeting with over 27 pro-groups under his Ben Kalu Foundation, including the Renewed Hope Initiative of the President, Renewed Hope Partners, and the Ben Kalu Movement.<\/p>\n According to him, the APC is building strong momentum to reclaim Abia <\/a>from the Labour Party government led by Governor Alex <\/a>Otti. <\/p>\n \u201cWe have come to take over, and there is no going back because we want to work with the President to move our state forward,\u201d Kalu said.<\/p>\n He praised President Bola Tinubu <\/a>for his economic reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, which he described as a \u201cmiracle decision\u201d that has allowed more funds to reach state governments. \u201cThe miracle worker is the President who releases money to the states\u2026 He did not keep it in his pocket but released it to the states,\u201d the lawmaker added.<\/p>\n Kalu, who represents Bende Federal Constituency, criticized Governor Otti\u2019s performance, saying the funds currently received by Abia <\/a>far exceed what past administrations managed. <\/p>\n \u201cYou cannot be getting the kind of money you are getting and be doing the job that former governors did with less. Former governors got about N4 billion to N5 billion, and today Tinubu <\/a>has released N38 billion to N40 billion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The Deputy Speaker vowed that APC would take over the state through democratic means, not coercion. \u201cWe are not going to take over this state by force. We are going to use the vote of the masses,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
