{"id":236358,"date":"2025-10-07T17:13:19","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T17:13:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia-rep-in-argument-with-abbas-for-ignoring-letter-on-nnamdi-kanus-health\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T17:13:19","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T17:13:19","slug":"abia-rep-in-argument-with-abbas-for-ignoring-letter-on-nnamdi-kanus-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/abia-rep-in-argument-with-abbas-for-ignoring-letter-on-nnamdi-kanus-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Abia Rep in argument with Abbas for \u2018ignoring\u2019 letter on Nnamdi Kanu\u2019s health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p>A member of the House of Representatives from Abia, Obi Aguocha, on Tuesday, engaged in a heated confrontation with Speaker Tajudeen Abbas for allegedly ignoring a letter on the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu\u2019s health.<\/p>\n<p>Aguocha representing Ikwuano\/Umuahia north\/Umuahia South Federal Constituency of <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/abia\">Abia <\/a>State during Tuesday\u2019s sitting, raised a point of privilege, stating that a letter he submitted on August 26 to the Abbas, Attorney-General of the federation, Lateef Fagbemi, and President Bola <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/tinubu\">Tinubu <\/a>regarding Kanu\u2019s worsening health condition has yet to receive any response.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Nigerian Medical Association has conducted a second evaluation, and the results even further confirm the deteriorating health of Nnamdi Kanu, that he has organ deficiencies, low potassium, and that he is, as we speak, on the verge of death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr speaker, this is not politics or any other thing, but it is a fundamental human right that should be ascribed to Nnamdi Kanu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost other people in that gap have been given opportunities to even travel overseas to seek medical attention.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNnamdi Kanu is neither convicted of any crimes in Nigeria and must be protected under the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The debate was said to have quickly turned tense as the speaker questioned Aguocha\u2019s use of \u201cpoint of privilege\u201d to demand action.<\/p>\n<p>Aguocha said he had visited the speaker\u2019s office, arguing that his motion was a \u201cmatter of life and death\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>But Abbas insisted that the floor of the house was not the right place for such follow-up and advised Aguocha to meet him directly, reiterating that he had no obligation to disclose what had been done about the letter.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async defer crossorigin=\"anonymous\" src=\"https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v9.0&amp;appId=420332301344305\" nonce=\"sm97MhBO\" type=\"pmdelayedscript\" data-cfasync=\"false\" data-no-optimize=\"1\" data-no-defer=\"1\" data-no-minify=\"1\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A member of the House of Representatives from Abia, Obi Aguocha, on Tuesday, engaged in a heated confrontation with Speaker Tajudeen Abbas for allegedly ignoring a letter on the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu\u2019s health.
