{"id":236452,"date":"2025-10-12T03:38:57","date_gmt":"2025-10-12T03:38:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/act-of-cowardice-bauchi-governor-slams-pdp-defectors\/"},"modified":"2025-10-12T03:38:57","modified_gmt":"2025-10-12T03:38:57","slug":"act-of-cowardice-bauchi-governor-slams-pdp-defectors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/act-of-cowardice-bauchi-governor-slams-pdp-defectors\/","title":{"rendered":"Act of Cowardice \u2013 Bauchi Governor Slams PDP Defectors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p data-start=\"84\" data-end=\"311\">Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has criticised members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who are defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing their actions as an act of cowardice.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"313\" data-end=\"555\">Speaking during the inauguration of the media sub-committee of the National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC), Mohammed said that true party members should stay and fight for the PDP rather than abandoning it for personal gain.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"559\" data-end=\"614\">\u201cStaying back to fight is what makes a man,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"969\">The PDP has been grappling with internal crises since its 2023 presidential primary, which produced former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"969\">The tension has worsened with the recent defections of key figures, including Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, to the APC.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1164\" data-end=\"1293\">Despite these challenges, Governor Mohammed expressed optimism that the PDP remains strong and capable of weathering any storm.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1297\" data-end=\"1460\">\u201cBy the grace of God, no Jupiter will stop us. No dark forces will succeed over us. If they succeed over the PDP, they have succeeded over Nigeria,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1462\" data-end=\"1641\">He reaffirmed the PDP\u2019s commitment to transforming Nigeria\u2019s leadership style, stressing that the party has the structure and capacity to conduct a credible national convention.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1645\" data-end=\"1819\">\u201cWe have to change the governance style of this country, and this is the beginning,\u201d he said. \u201cWe have never suffered as a country as we are suffering today under the APC.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1821\" data-end=\"2006\">Mohammed also urged members of the convention committee to intensify public engagement and collaboration among sub-committees to ensure the success of the party\u2019s upcoming convention.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has criticised members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who are defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing their actions as an act of cowardice.
