Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, has clarified her longstanding rift with colleague, Seyi Shay, citing the infamous salon confrontation that went viral online.<\/p>\n
Abia Radio News<\/strong> reports that the 2021 salon altercation between the two singers became one of the most viral celebrity moments of the year, after videos online showed Tiwa confronting Seyi Shay over their strained relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n Recalls that Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay have had a frosty relationship since 2017, after Seyi reportedly threw shade at Tiwa in her verse during the viral \u2018Fvck You \u2018 Challenge by Kiss Daniel, a move that escalated into years of subtle rivalry and public drama.<\/p>\n In an interview on \u2018Off Air\u2019 with Gbemi O and Toolz, the Somebody\u2019s Son crooner explained the feud stemmed from a diss track and allegations that she had tried to block opportunities for other female artistes.<\/p>\n She said, \u201cIf you do something to me, I will let you know. I don\u2019t have to let you know online. Like the whole shade thing, I\u2019m not going to pretend like you and I are cool in a salon when you did a diss track.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Tiwa Savage denied ever attempting to sabotage anyone\u2019s career, insisting that she has always been supportive of women in the industry.<\/p>\n The singer stated that she was shocked when she first heard about the accusations that she had tried to \u201cblock bags\u201d for other artistes, including Seyi Shay and Victoria Kimani.<\/p>\n She said, \u201cThat was painful, and I didn\u2019t know where it was coming from. Till today, maybe I need to have a conversation with Shay.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI heard that they thought I blocked their bag. How? If you\u2019ve heard from anybody that I tried to block your bag, mention the person so I can address it. I would never do that \u2014 I\u2019m so pro-women.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cWhen I got pregnant and had Jamil, I was taken off a Pepsi campaign, Longer Throat, and Shay was booked on it.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cGo back and check it, Shay was a brand ambassador, I wasn\u2019t.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI was taken off because I couldn\u2019t snap back in time. So how am I stopping other people\u2019s bag? I wasn\u2019t even mad.
