The Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori has clarified that his planned trip to Germany is not for leisure.<\/p>\n
Abia Radio News<\/strong> reports that the governor is scheduled to depart for Germany on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Speaking through the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, the governor explained that the upcoming trip is aimed at strengthening the state\u2019s partnership with construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc.<\/p>\n Oborevwori emphasised that the mission underscores his administration\u2019s commitment to transparency, value-driven projects, and cost efficiency.<\/p>\n Aniagwu said, \u201cGovernor Sheriff Oborevwori, myself, and the Technical Assistant to the Governor will on Tuesday depart for Germany for a working visit.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cThe purpose of this visit is to strengthen our ongoing partnership with Julius Berger. His Excellency is known for his negotiation skills, and this trip will enable us to secure better deals and concessions that will benefit the state.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cThe visit is not for leisure but part of the administration\u2019s continuous efforts to enhance project delivery and ensure cost-effectiveness.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Aniagwu recalled that the state\u2019s previous engagement with China resulted in the award of major contracts, including the \u20a659bn Agbor flyover and the \u20a639 billion Otovwodo Junction, Ughelli flyover on the Warri\u2013Patani Expressway<\/p>\n The governor, according to him, has also directed that all upcoming empowerment programmes, scheduled to begin next month, must be transparent and inclusive across the 25 local government areas.<\/p>\n He said the initiatives would be coordinated by relevant ministries and agencies to create sustainable livelihoods and boost productivity.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a9 2025 Abia Radio News, a division of Tee Global Innovataions.
