Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede, has condemned a comment made by the lead pastor of Light Nation Church in Abuja, Femi Lazarus, on women\u2019s menstrual cycles.<\/p>\n

Abia Radio News<\/strong> reports that Lazarus came under heavy backlash after a video from one of his sermons surfaced online.<\/p>\n

In the clip, he suggested that women\u2019s mood swings during menstruation were not caused by biology but by their attitude.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are not the first woman to see your period, so your menstruation is not the problem. I have never seen anywhere in the Bible any woman complain about menstrual pain. You are simply not a peaceful person,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n

The statement sparked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians accusing the pastor of being insensitive to women\u2019s experiences.<\/p>\n

Reacting on Instagram on Wednesday, Yvonne condemned the preacher\u2019s comment, urging men to stop making assumptions about things they have never experienced.<\/p>\n

She wrote, \u201cYesterday I saw a trending video of a clergyman seemingly trivialising menstrual pain.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019ve never experienced the hormonal changes that women go through during their periods, ovulations and pregnancy, please don\u2019t make bold statements about things you haven\u2019t experienced. Men please be kind.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

While many agreed with Yvonne, some users defended Pastor Lazarus, claiming his words were taken out of context.<\/p>\n

An Instagram user, Angie Joseph, wrote: \u201cHe wasn\u2019t trivializing menstrual pain. Kindly listen to the sermon to understand his context. My cramps are so bad that sometimes I end up in the hospital, but that doesn\u2019t make me a mannerless person.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
