Afrobeat is Fela Kuti\u2019s revolutionary, instrumental genre while Afrobeats is today\u2019s diverse, commercial African pop sound.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ruggedman also expressed concern that the Afrobeats tag, given to a genre of music in the country, might soon come to an end.<\/p>\n<p>He stated, <em>\u201cI just have a feeling that this whole Afrobeats thing, the tag might end soon. Nigerian music is in the forefront and I\u2019m happy it is Nigerian music.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe only change that I don\u2019t fancy much is the quality of the music, and not too many of them are giving me what I really respect.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When questioned about the rap genre, he said, <em>\u201cUnfortunately, rap has kind of taken a backseat, because people want to do something that gives them money quickly. Not too many people are doing rap, and it costs more to push and promote rap than Afrobeats.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Speaking about his latest acoustic versions of five of his songs: \u2018Ruggedy Baba\u2019, \u2018Baraje\u2019, \u2018Change\u2019, \u2018Won\u2019t Battle\u2019, and \u2018One Man\u2019, with the help and support of the great guitarist, Fiokee, Ruggedman added, <em>\u201cThis is the first time, no Nigerian rapper has done this acoustics, just guitar and rap.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSo this gives you an opportunity to hear the lyrics and feel the soul, the heart behind all the words I use, and nobody has done this before.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!-- CONTENT END 4 --><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p><span class=\"copyright\"><strong>\u00a9 2025 Abia Radio News, a division of  Tee Global Innnovations  [abiaradios@gmail.com].
