The Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), Abia <\/a>State Chapter, has expressed its unflinching support and vote of confidence in the administration of His Excellency, Dr. Alex <\/a>Chioma Otti, the Executive Governor of Abia <\/a>State.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the maiden Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON) Conference\u2014comprising the Umuahia and Aba Dioceses, as well as the Umunneochi, Uturu, and Isuikwuato deaneries\u2014held at Mater Dei Cathedral, Umuahia, the Deputy General Manager of the Abia <\/a>State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), Umuahia Zone, and Conference Convener, Catechist Ambrose Jonah, charged Christians to be agents of positive change in society.<\/p>\n

He urged the youths to live exemplary lives as \u201cthe salt of the earth and the light of the world,\u201d referencing Matthew 5:14. Jonah further advised Catholic youths to remain focused, avoid distractions, and engage in activities that promote their spiritual and moral growth, thereby contributing to the growth of the Church.<\/p>\n

The environmental expert commended Governor Alex <\/a>Otti for his developmental strides across the state, citing notable achievements such as the construction of quality roads, improvements in education, healthcare delivery, and empowerment initiatives across the 17 Local Government Areas. According to him, these accomplishments are clear indicators of good governance and justification for continued support for the governor.<\/p>\n

He added that the Otti administration has extended development to the grassroots, paying special attention to agriculture and sports.<\/p>\n

In her remarks, Lady Vivian Ogwumike expressed satisfaction with the zeal and dedication of Catholic youths in contributing meaningfully to state development through service in their respective capacities.<\/p>\n

Responding, the Umuahia Catholic Youth Leader, Catechist Igboeche Ernest, highlighted several life-changing projects across Abia <\/a>State in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, and rural development as reflections of Governor Otti\u2019s responsible leadership and financial prudence.<\/p>\n

According to him, Governor Otti has ushered in a new era of peace, accountability, and people-oriented governance. He praised the administration\u2019s focus on rural transformation, agricultural development, entrepreneurship, and fiscal discipline, noting that it has restored public confidence in government and expanded economic opportunities for Abians.<\/p>\n

He, however, appealed to the governor to fulfill the few remaining campaign promises made to the Catholic youth, particularly in the area of empowerment.<\/p>\n

Also speaking, Ambassador John Nwigwe dismissed opposition claims of underperformance, affirming that Governor Otti\u2019s inclusive style of leadership has brought peace and stability to Abia <\/a>State.<\/p>\n

Declaring the forum\u2019s continued support for the governor beyond 2027, Amb. Nwigwe described the current administration as a \u201crefreshing season of responsible leadership and economic renewal\u201d under Dr. Alex <\/a>Otti\u2019s stewardship.<\/p>\n
