The Oyo State High Court in Ibadan, on Monday, again adjourned the hearing of the case challenging the Peoples Democratic Party\u2019s (PDP) planned National Convention, as security operatives tightened access and barred journalists from covering the proceedings.<\/p>\n
Abia Radio News<\/strong> reports that Justice Ladiran Akintola adjourned the hearing of the Motion on Notice filed by Folahan Malomo Adelabi against the PDP, its Acting National Chairman, and others, to Wednesday, November 12, 2025.<\/p>\n Last week, the same court granted an ex-parte motion permitting the PDP to proceed with its scheduled National Convention in Ibadan while fixing Monday, November 10, 2025, for the substantive hearing.<\/p>\n However, after listening to arguments from all counsel on Monday, Justice Akintola directed the parties to \u201cfile and exchange their processes\u201d to enable a proper and effective hearing.<\/p>\n He subsequently adjourned the case to Wednesday for the determination of all pending applications.<\/p>\n Folahan Malomo Adelabi is asking the court to restrain the defendants, including Acting National Chairman Umar Iliya Damagum; Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (for himself and members of the National Convention Organising Committee); and the Independent National Electoral Commission, from taking any steps that could \u201ctruncate or frustrate\u201d the conduct of the PDP\u2019s planned National Convention.<\/p>\n The court had earlier ordered the PDP leadership to strictly comply with the guidelines, timetable and schedule of activities already issued for the event.<\/p>\n Journalists who arrived at the court premises on Monday were denied entry into the courtroom.<\/p>\n Security operatives positioned at strategic points blocked members of the press from accessing the proceedings, a development that fuelled further speculation about the rising tension surrounding the case.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a9 2025 Abia Radio News, a division of Tee Global Innovataions.
