Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose<\/strong>, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is now dead.<\/p>\n Abia Radio News reports that Fayose made the remark following the latest court decision, which stopped the party from holding its national convention.<\/p>\n In an interview on Channels Television\u2019s Politics Today on Tuesday, Fayose said the PDP\u2019s internal crisis had worsened because many of its key figures had abandoned the party.<\/p>\n He said, \u201cI said to you about a year ago that the PDP is in trouble and if we don\u2019t have a solution on time, the party will be dead, and the party is dead now.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI have said it repeatedly on this programme and I\u2019ve been able to tell Nigerians, the challenges confronted by a party whose big heads jump out of the water. That clearly shows you the challenge of the PDP, and who is going to save Jerusalem, when the people who are supposed to save Jerusalem have jumped out of the water.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Abia Radio News<\/strong> reported that the Federal High Court in Abuja has restrained the PDP from proceeding<\/strong> with its national convention, scheduled for November 15 and 16, in Ibadan, Oyo State, until the substantive suit filed by former Governor of Jigawa State,\u00a0Sule Lamido<\/strong>, is determined.<\/p>\n The order was given on Tuesday in a suit by Lamido challenging his inability to get the\u00a0PDP<\/strong>\u00a0Nomination Form to contest for the National Chairmanship position despite paying for the Form.<\/p>\n The court further ruled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should not participate in any activities relating to the convention in Ibadan or anywhere in Nigeria.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a9 2025 Abia Radio News, a division of Tee Global Innovataions.
