Abia <\/a>State under Governor Alex <\/a>Chioma Otti has continued to make headlines in causes that are ennobling and edifying. One of such developments is the current ranking of the State as the most prepared for health emergencies of all the 36 States in Nigeria. This is according to the data released by the SBM Health Preparedness Index (HPI) on November 6, 2025. The SBM Intelligence is acclaimed for conducting evidence-based researches within the health sector.<\/p>\n

The report of the group is published annually to showcase progress or otherwise by States and other actors within the health care system. In its 2025 report which has just been released, Abia <\/a>State was ranked number one in the country for emergency readiness. The studies conducted by SBM Intelligence focus on the level of infrastructure and budgetary commitments of the States in the health sector. The current report placed Abia <\/a>State at the summit with a score of 26.85 points, the highest in the entire country.<\/p>\n
