The Head, Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau, Abia <\/a>State, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Dr. Alex <\/a>Otti\u2013led administration to supporting the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) in its mission to build a skilled and competitive national workforce.<\/p>\n

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Abia <\/a>state Governor, Dr. Chukwu gave the assurance in Umuahia while receiving an ITF delegation on a working visit. He noted that the administration\u2019s focus on due process, institutional strengthening, and human capital development aligns seamlessly with the ITF\u2019s mandate.<\/p>\n

Highlighting reforms under his leadership, the Due Process boss and founder of the Oluebube Chukwu Foundation said the Bureau has recorded significant progress in improving procurement systems, enhancing transparency, and reinforcing structures that ensure governance is executed \u201cthe right way.\u201d<\/p>\n

He commended Governor Otti for providing an enabling governance environment and for entrusting him with the responsibility of driving process integrity in the state.<\/p>\n

Dr. Chukwu pledged sustained collaboration with Abia <\/a>government and its agencies to ensure full implementation of ITF programmes in Abia.<\/p>\n

He further assured the visiting team of the Bureau\u2019s readiness to support the enforcement of the ITF Act, which mandates companies with five or more employees to remit 1% of their annual revenue to the Fund for workforce training and development.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the ITF Area Manager and leader of the delegation, Mr. Nwigboji Nwafaga, said the visit was part of the Fund\u2019s nationwide sensitization campaign aimed at strengthening public-sector understanding of its role in manpower development.<\/p>\n

He expressed concern that the South-East region has been underrepresented in ITF programs and called for enhanced collaboration with the Due Process Bureau to boost training participation across Abia.<\/p>\n

Mr. Nwafaga also appealed for the Bureau\u2019s support in ensuring that contractors operating in the state comply with the ITF Act, noting that improved compliance would unlock more training opportunities for Abians.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to promoting programs that will enhance skills, productivity, and capacity in Abia <\/a>State,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Top management staff of both the Due Process Bureau and the Industrial Training Fund were in attendance during the visit.<\/p>\n
