Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has stated that the importance of looks in the entertainment industry cannot be downplayed.<\/p>\n
She said this in an interview with Hip TV, while addressing the debate of actors getting roles based on their physiques and complexions rather talent.<\/p>\n
The thespian argued that looks is very important in showbiz, stressing that it is what is shown to viewers that attract patronage.<\/p>\n
According to her, \u201cThere are so many things actors can rely on. It\u2019s not just looks. But then again, looks is very important because it\u2019s showbiz. It\u2019s what you show people that\u2019s what brings business so appearance matters a lot.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cHowever, a lot of people have been able to get roles by doing other things. Not necessarily looks. But if you want to rely on your looks, if that\u2019s your best foot, bring it forward. I mean, it happens in every other industry.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n On the issue of payment in Nollywood, Jegede said, \u201cIt depends on your milestone and it depends on the dues you\u2019ve paid. I believe if you\u2019ve been here long enough and you\u2019ve paid your dues, you will definitely be paid your worth.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t speak for everybody, but for me, Nollywood pays the bills. Not all the bills, but it does pay the bills. So, I\u2019m very good.
