Abia <\/a>State Governor Alex <\/a>Otti has presented Abia <\/a>State\u2019s 2026 budget of N1,016,228,072,651.99 to the State House of Assembly for consideration.<\/p>\n The 2026 figure represents a 13 per cent increase from the 2025 appropriation numbers.<\/p>\n N811,813,769,862.24, representing 80 per cent of the entire outlay, will be used for the execution of capital projects, while N204,414,302,789.75, representing 20 per cent of the budget, will be dedicated to recurrent expenditures.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Presenting the 2026 budget on the floor of the House on Tuesday, Governor Alex <\/a>Otti said the increase was to enable his administration to support critical day-to-day administrative functions and effectively meet obligations to personnel, especially with the addition of thousands of new employees to the payroll.<\/p>\n He announced that education will take 20 per cent of the budget, totalling N203.2 billion, while the health sector will again take 15 per cent of the Abia <\/a>State budget, amounting to N149.7 billion.<\/p>\n He promised that his administration would complete ongoing projects initiated during the previous budget cycle, consolidate achievements made so far across various sectors, and continue to initiate new people-oriented programmes.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
