{"id":237645,"date":"2025-11-25T23:34:21","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T23:34:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/pdp-state-chairmen-vow-to-soldier-on-reaffirm-support-for-turaki\/"},"modified":"2025-11-25T23:34:21","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T23:34:21","slug":"pdp-state-chairmen-vow-to-soldier-on-reaffirm-support-for-turaki","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/pdp-state-chairmen-vow-to-soldier-on-reaffirm-support-for-turaki\/","title":{"rendered":"PDP State Chairmen Vow To \u2018Soldier On\u2019, Reaffirm Support For Turaki"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p>The Forum of State Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared its readiness to \u201csoldier on\u201d despite what it describes as calculated pressures, orchestrated hostilities and institutional oppressions confronting the party.<\/p>\n<p>The forum also pledged unwavering support for the new National Chairman, <strong>Kabiru Turaki<\/strong> (SAN), as the PDP transitions into a new leadership phase following its Ibadan National Convention.<\/p>\n<p>This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the forum\u2019s chairman and Edo State PDP Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, alongside 25 other state chairmen.<\/p>\n<p>The statement described the newly inaugurated 20-member National Working Committee (NWC) as a stabilising force expected to steer the party through internal tensions and external pressures.<\/p>\n<p>The forum said, <em>\u201cIn the face of calculated pressures, orchestrated hostilities, and callous institutional oppressions, we reaffirm our unshakeable resolve to soldier on in defence of the enduring ideals of the Peoples Democratic Party.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It added that the emergence of Turaki\u2019s leadership signals an opportunity for consolidation within the party\u2019s national structure.<\/p>\n<p>The forum extended appreciation to the PDP Governors\u2019 Forum, particularly acknowledging the efforts of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, who hosted the elective convention that produced the new NWC.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe convey profound appreciation to His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, for the seamless, well-organised, and successful hosting of the elective National Convention,\u201d<\/em> the statement read.<\/p>\n<p>Governors Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), the chairman of the PDP Governors\u2019 Forum; Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), chairman of the Convention Organising Committee; and Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau) were also commended for coordinating party processes during a period of political uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p>The roles played by Dauda Lawal (Zamfara) and Ademola Adeleke (Osun) were likewise highlighted as part of efforts to maintain party cohesion.<\/p>\n<p>The PDP\u2019s National Elective Convention, held in Ibadan from November 15 to 16, produced a new NWC expected to strengthen party operations across the states.<\/p>\n<p><!-- CONTENT END 4 --><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p><span class=\"copyright\"><strong>\u00a9 2025 Abia Radio News, a division of Tee Global Innovataions.
