The Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) has dismissed reports claiming that veteran Nollywood actor, Olalere Paimo, is dead.<\/p>\n
Celebrity journalist and Chairman of the Best of Nollywood Awards, Seun Oleketuyi, earlier announced the death of the movie star in an Instagram post on Saturday.<\/p>\n
According to Oleketuyi, Paimo, a cultural icon, survived a stroke twice before his demise.<\/p>\n
He wrote, \u201cChief Lere Paimo (MON) is dead. Baba died at age 86.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cA strong man. Baba survived a stroke twice.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cMay Baba\u2019s soul rest in peace.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n However, the ANTP, in a statement signed by the National Public Relations Officer, Prince Adejonwo Oluwafemi Femson, and released on Saturday, confirmed that the actor, popularly known as Baba Eda Onile Ola, is alive and in good health.<\/p>\n The statement read, \u201cWe would like to inform the public that reports circulating on Facebook about the passing of Chief Olalere OsunPaimo (MFR) are false.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cWe have confirmed with Baba Eda Onile Ola\u2019s wife that he is alive and in good health.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cPlease disregard these false reports and be aware that they are being spread by unscrupulous individuals.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n ANTP urged the public to verify information before sharing unconfirmed reports, warning against the spread of misinformation.<\/p>\n \u201cWe urge everyone to verify information before sharing to avoid spreading misinformation,\u201d<\/em> the statement said.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a9 2025 Abia Radio News, a division of Tee Global Innnovations [abiaradios@gmail.com].
