{"id":237816,"date":"2025-12-02T04:36:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T04:36:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/nigeria-is-bleeding-daily-our-leaders-have-normalised-failure-peter-obi-laments\/"},"modified":"2025-12-02T04:36:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T04:36:06","slug":"nigeria-is-bleeding-daily-our-leaders-have-normalised-failure-peter-obi-laments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/nigeria-is-bleeding-daily-our-leaders-have-normalised-failure-peter-obi-laments\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria is bleeding daily, our leaders have normalised failure \u2013 Peter Obi laments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p data-start=\"252\" data-end=\"431\">Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, says Nigeria is \u201cbleeding daily\u201d under a leadership that has normalised failure and indifference to public suffering.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"433\" data-end=\"527\">Obi said this in a statement on his Facebook page after he revealed some group of young Nigerians at the Abuja airport.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"529\" data-end=\"715\">He said the youths expressed concern that he had not commented on recent developments in the country, including ambassadorial nominations, security failures and governance controversies.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"717\" data-end=\"844\">The former Anambra governor said the concerns reflect the growing pain among citizens who feel abandoned by those in authority.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"846\" data-end=\"939\">\u201cThere is a pain one carries silently when watching a nation you love bleed daily,\u201d Obi said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"941\" data-end=\"1053\">He said the situation in Nigeria has become so dire that the country is increasingly mocked on the global stage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1055\" data-end=\"1173\">He criticised recent ambassadorial nominations, saying they reflect a system that elevates mediocrity over competence.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1175\" data-end=\"1317\">\u201cWith a leadership that has allowed mediocrity, corruption and impunity to rise to the top, who else did you expect them to choose?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1319\" data-end=\"1438\">Obi faulted public officials for hosting celebrations while killings, abductions and hunger persist across the country.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1440\" data-end=\"1522\">\u201cWhen our people are being killed, our leaders are busy hosting dinners. When children are being snatched from their schools, the political class is celebrating and dancing.
