The former national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria<\/strong> (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has confirmed a car accident involving the guild\u2019s newly elected president, Abubakar Yakubu.<\/p>\n Abia Radio News<\/strong> recalls that \u00a0Yakubu was arrested on Tuesday night over involvement in a fatal auto crash in Surulere, Lagos.<\/p>\n In a statement on Thursday, Rollas disclosed that Yakubu\u2019s vehicle experienced a sudden brake failure, which led to a collision, resulting in the death of a child.<\/p>\n He explained that while Yakubu cooperated fully with law enforcement and emergency responders at the scene, the injured child\u2019s mother is currently receiving medical care.<\/p>\n Rollas noted that the AGN leadership has visited the affected family to offer condolences, emotional support, and solidarity, adding that Yakubu is deeply heartbroken over the incident.<\/p>\n The statement reads, \u201cThe Actors Guild of Nigeria is deeply saddened to confirm the involvement of the National President elect Mr. Abubakar Yakubu, in a tragic road accident that occurred on Tuesday 9th December in Lagos.<\/i><\/p>\n \u201cThe accident, resulting from an unexpected mechanical brake failure, leading to a collision that unfortunately claimed the life of a child and injured the child\u2019s mother, who is currently receiving medical care.<\/i><\/p>\n \u201cImmediately following the incident, Mr. Yakubu cooperated fully with law enforcement and emergency responders as a law abiding citizen. The Guild Leadership has since visited the affected family to offer condolences, emotional support, and solidarity in this painful moment.<\/i><\/p>\n \u201cThe matter has also been resolved amicably with the family, with a shared understanding that this was a tragic accident with no party at intentional fault.
