\u200bThe Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to the report, and upon arrival, discovered the filmmaker and his wife were already deceased. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) joined the scene shortly after.<\/p>\n
\u200bThe deaths are being investigated as a double homicide, with initial reports indicating both victims died from an apparent stabbing.<\/p>\n
\u200bOfficials have described the incident only as a \u201cfamily incident<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u200bThe Reiner family released a statement to Variety, asking for privacy as they mourn the sudden loss.<\/p>\n \u200b\u201cIt is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner.
