Leke Joseph Abijide, which reportedly endorsed President Tinubu\u2019s second-term ambition.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI want to categorically distance the leadership of the ADC from the statement credited to Hon. Leke Joseph Abijide in support of President Bola Tinubu\u2019s 2027 re-election,\u201d<\/em> Bala said.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThat statement does not reflect the position of the African Democratic Congress as a determined opposition party. We clearly reject any association with it and reaffirm our stance as a strong force in Nigeria\u2019s political space.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bala said the inauguration of the congress and appeal committees marked a significant milestone in the party\u2019s history, describing it as a clear demonstration of its commitment to internal democracy.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt is with great honour and humility that I stand before you today to address the inaugural session of the Zonal and State Congress and Appeal Committees of the African Democratic Congress,\u201d <\/em>he said.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are gathered here to mark a significant milestone in the history of our great party. The establishment of these committees is a testament to our commitment to strengthening the party\u2019s structure and ensuring that the voices of our members are heard at all levels.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>According to Bala, the committees were constituted to oversee the planning and conduct of congresses at the zonal, state, local government and ward levels, in strict compliance with the party\u2019s constitution and the Electoral Act.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the panels were also mandated to enforce constitutional compliance, implement congress guidelines and uphold electoral regulations, including voting procedures, ballot handling and the declaration of results.<\/p>\n<p>The ADC chairman urged party members to remain united and committed to building a stronger platform anchored on justice, equity and fairness.<\/p>\n<p>In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Congress Committee for the North-West geopolitical zone, Abimikun Monday, described the inauguration as a major step towards repositioning the party.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis marks a milestone in our efforts to reposition the leadership of the ADC across all strata,<\/em>\u201d Monday said.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the responsibility entrusted to the committee reflected the confidence reposed in them by the party\u2019s national leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Monday commended Bala for his resilience and commitment to rebuilding the party despite internal challenges, assuring that the committee would deliver on its mandate.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOur duty is to oversee the planning and execution of zonal, state and local government congresses in line with the ADC constitution, approved guidelines and the Electoral Act of Nigeria,<\/em>\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<h2>2027: \u2018ADC Will Be New Anthem on Nigerians\u2019 Lips\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Also speaking, the Kaduna State Chairman of the ADC, <strong>Sani Aliyu Mohammed,<\/strong> reaffirmed the party\u2019s resolve to win political power through democratic means.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe will do everything within our power, from the state level down to the local governments, to ensure effective organisation and success,\u201d <\/em>Mohammed said.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the ADC becomes the new name and the new anthem on the lips of every Nigerian from 2027 onward.
