In the post he made on December 30, 2025, three days before his death,\u00a0 Igwe Akuma Akwu cried out that he was mercilessly beaten by some thugs working for an individual, in January 2025.<\/p>\n
He also lamented that his Toyota Corolla car was\u00a0 set ablaze on October 28, 2025 by a group allegedly boasting connection and control of government.<\/p>\n
In the same post, he lamented that his five-year-old cousin was missing after an attack, before finally raising the alarm that his life may be under threat as a result of the publication.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, some human rights groups, traditional institutions and other youth groups have appealed for calm, with calls for\u00a0 thorough investigation into the matter.<\/p>\n
In a strongly-worded press release on Sunday, the Executive Director of Foundation for Environmental Rights Advocacy & Development, FENRAD, Nelson Nnanna Nwafor demanded the\u00a0 arrest and prosecution of those involved in the killing,\u00a0 among other demands.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe call for a review of the security response mechanism to reported threats and early warning signals to prevent recurrence of similar tragedies.<\/p>\n
\u201cFENRAD also demands intentional accountability for any lapses or negligence that may have contributed to the failure to protect the deceased\u201d, Nwafor said.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
