{"id":238903,"date":"2026-01-07T11:22:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T11:22:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/wike-fayose-others-expulsion-still-stands-pdp-south-south-chair\/"},"modified":"2026-01-07T11:22:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T11:22:08","slug":"wike-fayose-others-expulsion-still-stands-pdp-south-south-chair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/wike-fayose-others-expulsion-still-stands-pdp-south-south-chair\/","title":{"rendered":"Wike, Fayose, Other\u2019s Expulsion Still Stands \u2013 PDP South-South Chair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p>The Chairman of the <strong>Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)<\/strong> in the South-South zone, Emmanuel Ogidi, has insisted that the suspension and expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, and other party chieftains remain valid.<\/p>\n<p>Ogidi stated this on Wednesday during his appearance on Channels Television\u2019s The Morning Brief, dismissing contrary claims as baseless.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Nigerians know the truth. They are just making noise. They\u2019ve been expelled<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ogidi recalled that the PDP, at its national convention held in November in Ibadan, Oyo State, expelled Wike, Fayose, the party\u2019s former National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, and eight others over alleged anti-party activities.<\/p>\n<p>According to the party, the expelled members engaged in actions deemed inconsistent with the PDP\u2019s collective interest. Certificates of expulsion were subsequently issued to those affected.<\/p>\n<p>The PDP South-South chairman noted that following the expulsions, a faction loyal to Wike announced the suspension of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and others who supported the convention\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n<p>He maintained, however, that such counter-moves had no standing within the party.<\/p>\n<p>Weeks after his expulsion, Wike had publicly insisted that he remained a member of the PDP.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019m still in the PDP. So those who have remained, we\u2019ll continue to work together<\/em>,\u201d Wike said while reacting to the defection of some PDP lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly to the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201c<em>Put your house in order.
